Today I've got great news from my colleague John Morris that supports my point of view that ongoing Industry 4.0 Evolution may significantly change international business landscape. According joint press release by ABB, Bosch, Cisco, and LG (October 28, 2013),
"Stuttgart and Munich – ABB, Bosch, Cisco, and LG aim to set up a consortium to provide a software platform for smart homes. Under the memorandum, the parties intend to develop an open architecture for data exchange. The software platform would allow diverse devices and services to interoperate, and to exchange information with each other. The software platform is intended to make the standard available to all manufacturers, software developers, and service providers..."
This is really great news and next solid step in Industry 4.0 Evolution process. This is a good opportunity for technology, manufacturing and trade sector, ... and Governments too.
As for today’s people, I am not sure they would be in a harry to own smart-house. Just some of the reasons, except the house price. Most people prefer privacy and learning new technology by exception (not continuously). They would not appreciate having lifestyle that is being jeopardized by what they do not understand, since it is smarter then they are.
Thinking in the context of Bosh-SI platform, I’ve got impression that there is an urgent need in adding Big Data Management and Analytics (on-demand service ) to the platform to enable and empower CXO’s smart management.
Ongoing Industry 4.0 Evolution may significantly change world business landscape. Many industries will eliminate export | import burden related to certain types of products, only information will flow across the borders between countries, no export | import of material products. The Internet enables manufacturers to install Smart Production Systems (SPS) and Points of Service worldwide and closer to customers. How Ontario manufacturers could benefit of Industry 4.0?
